Full Version Of Terms And Conditions
As such D S R ( Distance selling rules ) do not require me to offer to either re-fund or replace any item unless there has been an error on my part (ie) I have engraved the wrong initials or design, sent out a cushion shape insted of an oval, all other dimensions are approximate. An incorrect finger size I will accept back and I will re size FREE OF CHARGE even though in general 99 times out of a hundred it will be incorrectly ordered
In the event an item is not to you satisfaction, please contact me by email or telephone, only twice in 5 years internet trading have I been unable to resolve an issue to both parties mutual satisfaction. One gentleman who ordered a 13mm x 11mm oval signet ring in a size R unbeknown to me for himself, suggesting I should not have supplied it as " he is not Gay " I found quite offensive, I refunded him only 50% made me HAPPY !
Mistakes can and inevitably will happen, more often than not on the advice of your local jeweller you will have ordered the incorrect finger size, this happens OFTEN, or not understanding signet ring design, or basically purchasing based on the price tag (smaller = cheaper) the ring which arrives may be physically smaller than expected, or because my rings are all HEAVYWEIGHT bulkier than expected, I will do my best to exchange where practical, I can always file a thick big ring smaller, or thinner or lighter, or even into a court shape, a small fee or return postage may apply. If you had ordered a ring from a supplier who sent you out a razor thin ring based on a dishonest photo, not only would it be impossible to make it thicker, but I ASSUME one would have a case under DSR as not as described.
If in doubt about either head size or finger size, PLEASE, request I send out bronze samples for you to try on , there is a refundable fee of £120.00 for this service, generally used as a deposit against your order (once samples are returned) I will send sample head sizes, in assorted finger sizes usually including engraving sample if I have something suitably close to your required design. ORDER BRONZE SAMPLES
I do not store any personal details on this website, once an order is completed I erase your details also from my computer, your order is posted with a written invoice , with return address details, impossible for me to sort through at a later date should you request a replacement quote for insurance if you have lost it, or for a replica to be made for another family member, so please keep your receipt.
Please email in first instance , as with all craftsmen I tend not to answer my telephones when concentrating on manufacturing and engraving , answer machine may be in use.
As I tend not to start work at my bench till after 10.30 am (waiting for medication to work) please call if possible between 8.30 am and 10.30 am or after working hours (ie) 6.pm till 7.30pm monday to friday UK time, I seldom answer my telephone at the weekends, driving a narrowboat with a phone in ones hand is rather dangerous , and mobile phones do not swim well.
If you call and do not get a reply, check the weather in Hertfordshire area, chances are the sun is shining "I only work when the sun don't shine"
Or to put it another way, having previously been a workaholic , with shop rents to pay and staff to support " I now work to live , NOT live to work"
I have one very firm rule that I stick ridgedly to " the customers order I am working on now takes priority over potential new orders "
OVERSEAS ORDERS IMPORTANT INFORMATION
For the first time in 5 years a parcel went missing in december 2014 going to USA , when attempting to resolve for the loss via Paypal it has come to my attention that neither Paypal nor Worldpay cover BESPOKE items in their terms and conditions, as such my customer attempting to place a claim under item not received had her claim rejected. Everything I sell therefore is not covered according to Paypal, as all my products are made to order, or made in a specific size also the majority are custom engraved.
Most postal services including Parcelforce and Royal Mail will not cover Jewellery, or will only cover the value of the raw materials (ie) bullion, my labour to manufacture and engrave is not included making it a futile waste of my time attempting a claim against them.
As I am a UK manufacturer and seller with 98% of my orders from UK customers all of which are covered by Royal mail insurance though I am happy to accept oversees orders, I am no longer willing to conduct any claims in the unlikely event of their loss. sorry
